Depakine Chrono
Depakine Chrono is a two-piece math-rock band from České Budějovice. That means one can never guess what will happen during their shows. Magic between a guitar and drums. The listener becomes a mere spectator hungrily devouring the non-verbal communication and constant improvisation, sometimes a fight and sometimes a harmony between the cymbals and the strings, the frets and the heads. The confirmation of music minimalism bears the name Depakine Chrono.

The drummer of the post-rock band Ufajr exchanged his bandmates for analogue synthesisers/samplers/drum machine and constructs his tracks by a combination of live beats and preprogramed loops. Soundtrack to the fight/symbiosis of human and industrial world.

Aid Kid
Aid Kid has experienced a real breakthrough in 2004. Thanks to Radio Wave he performed at one of the biggest Slovak festivals Pohoda and thanks to his club contacts he played e.g. with SOHN, SOPHIE, MSMSMSM, Arms & Sleepers, Wax Tailor and Groundislava. The rich musical arrangement of his ”positive techno“ incorporates Ondřej’s roots – post-rock & shoegaze. Earlier in his career, he played with the band Daydream Nation and now he also performs with the renowned band DIVIDED.

Leto
A sun-broiled yard in a desolated city on a scorching sunny day. Ingeniously hidden blanket on the edge of a blooming meadow. No drama is so small that it couldn’t get too big – and no trauma is so playful that it couldn’t’ dissolve in lemonade. Small stories, small sounds, big passions, big words. Endless tension between two poles breeds beauty that is not for everyone. If it is for YOU, you are privileged. Perhaps it just wants to find the promised beast snoozing in the summer sun…

Ufajr
Post-rock UFAJR have been a part of the Prague alternative scene since 2008. Since then, they have played hundreds of concerts all over the Czech Republic and published several short records. In 2013, they composed and several times also performed the soundtrack for the German silent film from 1929 Die Weiße Hölle vom Piz Palü (The White Hell of Piz Palü) which have received very favourable reception by their audiences.
Every time UFAJR set out to achieve stardom, they skilfully killed their whole reputation (for example by going on a hiatus) so that not many people would listen to their music, God forbid.

Ufajr Vs. Petr Skoumal
Everyone who has put at least minor thought into the musical motives from Maxipes Fík, Bob and Bobby and And that’s it! has to feel the strong connection of Petr Skoumal to animated film. There is a special kind of magic in them. They are connected to our subconscious. We hear them over and over again becuase their immortal much like the series they accompany. You have heard them once, you simply can’t forget them. If we look on Petr Skoumal’s work for films, in particular for animated films, it is an imposing list. But it was not only his work for Večerníček / The Little Eveninger that the composer brushed to perfection. For example the work of Pavel Koutský and Jiří Barta, two significant figures of Czech animated film, would exist without Skoumal’s music, but it would lose too much of its magic. The diversity of Czech animated film was no challenge for Petr Skoumal. As a proof we can name for example his composition for The Club of the Laid Off, where creaky harp alternates with pop music, experiment and TV jingle. It was allegedly Vladimír Jiránek who brought Skoumal to animation and it was animation which brought him repeatedly to Třeboň. And that is why we would like to remind the late composer to the visitors of Anifilm. And we would like to do so in a non-traditional way. The five-piece Prague post-rock band Ufajr will transform several of his more popular compositions into a unique performance. They will play his songs and songs inspired by him in several blocks. The performance will be accompanied by film screenings.
Maxipes Paya vs. Pat and Bobek – popular Večerníček melodies and their math-rock mash-up
Aucassin and Nicoletta – based on the songs from the animated short of the same name
Konrad, you won’t solve anything by crying! – a composition inspired by the film Jára Cimrman, Lying, Sleeping
I Am a Japanese Synthesiser – a recapitulation of Skoumal’s work based on his song of the same name from 1994

Kyklos Galaktikos
Kyklos Galaktios have their very own unique way of playing (with) music that lies between rap and hip hop. The band is elegant, intelligent, has a detached view and is not alien to anything human. A fresh mix o poetry, banality, bizarreness and irony, innovative sound, and lyrics attacking your instincts by these, as the critics put it, de facto gods. Kyklos Galaktikos’ lyricism provokes repeated listening.

The band has among other thing rehearsed the soundtrack for the silent film Diary of a Lost Girl and composed music for five theatre performances (The Tourist, Return to Roissy, Looking Back, Rhinoceros, and cancelled Meter and a half wide). DJ Gadjo
Dj Gadjo.cz has performed in London, Istanbul, Berlin, Paris, Manchester, Budapest, Dublin, Vienna, Liverpool, Madrid, Belfast, Cracow, Sofia and other beautiful cities. In May 2012 he came back to live in his beloved Prague, where he has regularly appeared in the programmes of established clubs for the last few years (Palác Akropolis, Cross Club, Chapeau Rouge). His current dance club music oscillates between a Frida Kahlo-style Mexican bender, a wild Balkan wedding, a colourful Rio carnival and a cheerful port tavern. There is a lot of dance world’n’bass, original Gypsy temperament, Argentinian tango, joyful Latino reggae, rock’n’roll tattoo or the currently very hip electroswing. His dance floor is characterized by a variety of genres and music with a soul.

DJ Liquid
DJ Liquid A belongs to Czech Republic’s most seasoned DJs. He first took interest in playing and the vinyl world during his stay in San Francisco in early 1990s. Having amassed a large collection of music hitherto unheard of in the country, he started DJing in Prague in 1993. DJ Liquid A was among the first DJs to play in legendary clubs like Roxy, XT3 and Punto Azul, before taking his sets on a tour of the whole country. The initial prevalence of acid jazz and ethno later gave way to pioneering new dance styles, such as drum’n’bass and breakbeat. He is a proponent of freestyle playing. Today, his sets include Brazilian music, Latino music, acid jazz, jazzy breaks, soul and funk, depending on the venue and atmosphere.
