Non-Competition Programme
Main theme of the festival
Several curators’ selections focusing on a specific genre, technique, particular cultural and pop-cultural phenomena of current animation: geographical, historiographic or thematic overviews of various kinds.
Teritorial focuses
One european and one non-european country in specific views.
Retrospectives
Retrospectives of a distinguished authors introduces films by a specific author who has significantly influenced world animation. Not only as a follow-up to Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jury Programme
The section presents films or other programme by a members of Anifilm Jury.
Midnight animation
This prohramme presents unfair, unacceptable and a majority in many senses unusually explicit films, short or feature film, a TV series. After three nights, always after midnight.
Cartoon d´Or
This is screening of films nominated for the best European animated short film award
Dust classic off
This is mostly first screenings of restorated and digitalized classic Czech animated films
Taking Stock and Special Screenings
This programme is an overview of current animated production from all around the world and presents the most successful and most interesting films that have premiered in the Czech Republic during the previous year.
Animo
Animo is a programme aimed on children and grown-ups alike, consisting of national as well as foreign animated production, which includes novelties as well as classics and is aimed at different age groups.
PROGRAMME FOR PROFESSIONALS
Masterclasses, workshops, works in progress, presentations and lectures
We invite internationally renowned film professionals who then lecture on concrete topics concerning animated production, theory and history.
Visegrad Animation Forum (VAF)
VAF is mainly a “market access platform“. It tries to attract new partners, producers, broadcasters, and film distributors. Find more information here: http://visegradanimation.com/.
Game Day
This more than one-day event aims mainly for the promotion of both Czech and foreign independent games and interactive projects. It consists of presentations by game authors, screenings and promotions of the most interesting projects the visitors will be able to try for themselves.
Animation Workshops and Kreus
The animation workshops are traditional workshops of animation for both children and adults who have an opportunity to make their own animated film. The workshops are led by experienced creators, film school teachers and students.
ACCOMPANYING PROGRAMME
The accompanying programme consists of concerts, thematic exhibitions, theatre performances for children, videomapping, etc.
