Anifilm Prepared a Competition with ANOMALIA
In the year when Anifilm focuses on 3D animation, the festival also joins forces with the established educational platform ANOMALIA which has been focusing on this technique for a long time. A traditional part of ANOMALIA’s summer training courses in Litomyšl is an incubator called Story & Art Lab which focuses on development of story and art in animated projects. This year’s incubator will welcome two artists from the Pixar Studios. Nathan Stanton will take on the role of the incubator’s mentor and, Ricky Nierva, one of Pixar’s main art directors, will focus on character design for animated films. These artists who worked for example on films Finding Nemo and Toy Story 2 guarantee a high-quality programme.
Three creative teams now have a chance to win participation in the incubator with their projects! All you need to do is to enter the competition supported by Anifilm, DEPO2015 Plzeň and the FILMTALENT Zlín fund. The creative teams will submit a description of their project for an animated feature or short film or a series (with no limitations to the animation technique) and their intention to take part in the competition until 10th April. The teams can be composed of an author (director), screenwriter and storyboardist who will take part in Story Lab and also two graphic designers who will design the characters in the Character Design Lab. The team will choose a genre and the target group of their film. The submission deadline for their competition project is 25th April. At the beginning of May, during the Anifilm International Film Festival of Animated Films, an expert jury will pick three winner of the competition who will take part in the ANOMALIA 2018 courses in Litomyšl.
