Exhibitions and Installations
Our accompanying programme will offer four exhibitions. Puppets are Alive! will present contemporary Czech puppet animation by young as well as established authors who follow in the footsteps of traditional Czech puppet animation.
Exhibition Italian Animation will introduce the classical technique of hand-drawn animation. The exhibition includes prominent names of Italian animation such as Gianluigi Toccafondo, Roberto Catani and Simone Massi. Our jury member Magda Guidi will present her drawings as well.
Exhibition Jiří Šalamoun – The Giant Dog of Animation maps Šalamoun’s film work. Apart from serials and short films, it focuses on his less-known work for television and live-action films. The exhibition will also include Šalamoun’s “interventions” into live-action films represented by title sequences and posters.
Light Installation Room was created by the students of the Studio of Film and TV Graphics of the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague. Each author screens his animation on multiform screening surfaces anchored in the room and the resulting videomapping offers a wide range of artistic and animation styles from computer animation to abstract patterns drawn “under the camera” and presents the varied work of the aforementioned studio.
