ANIFILM 2022 Introduces its Juries
28 | 04
This year, the best computer games will be picked by three women – Italian game designer Claudia Molinari from We Are Müesli; Dutch graphic artist Céline Veltman, known for her work on Hidden Folks (successful at ANIFILM 2017); and Czech visual artist Eva Nečasová from Charles Games.
The jury of our Competition of VR Films, Music Videos and Abstract and Non-Narrative Animation will consist of publicist, painter and extended reality curator Lars Rummel (Germany), who collaborates for instance with the DOK Leipzig Festival; Czech-British artist and graduate of the London Royal College of Art Tereza Stehlíková, who works with various media, primarily video and performance, and currently heads the Department of Visual Arts at the Prague University of Creative Communication; and Ukrainian graphic artist and director with an unmistakeable style Stas Santimov, known for his gifs, music videos and films.
The jury of our Competition of Short and Student Films will consist of Estonian-based Croatian director and illustrator Lucija Mrzljak; German filmmaker and interfilm Festival Berlin producer Alexander Stein; and Prague director, graphic artist and comic artist Jan Saska, known for his short film Happy End (the film was among 10 films competing for the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2016).
The winners of the Animorpha Award for the Best Feature Film for Children and Grown-Ups will be picked by Slovak director and producer from Fool Moon Katarína Kerekesová (Stones, The Websters, Mimi and Lisa); Dutch graphic artist and director Hisko Hulsing (director of hit series Undone); and the king of independent American animation, Oscar-nominated director Bill Plympton.
Our jurors always contribute to the festival programme and this year will be no different. The festival theme of Animation & Humour will be enriched by Lucija Mrzljak who will present her short films strongly influenced by Estonian humour. Jan Saska prepared a masterclass where he will talk about his eagerly anticipated film Hurricane. Bill Plympton will bring his renowned masterclass and present a selection of his films including two feature films. Hisko Hulsing will present the hit series Undone and all his preceding acclaimed projects. Tereza Stehlíková will explain her interpretation of films for all senses. But that’s not all!
