In addition to its international competitions, Anifilm also announces films competing in the national competition Czech Horizon. Proof that Czech cinema is thriving can be found in the number of this year’s submissions. The final selection will be screened in five blocks combining short and student film series, commissioned works and music videos and two extra feature screenings – Hungry Bear Tales: To the Pole or Bust! (dir. Kateřina Karhánková and Alexandra Májová) and the abovementioned Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light (dir. Filip Pošivač). In total, there are record-breaking 69 films competing for Czech Horizon Award.
