Non-Competition Screening Programme

In addition to the competition programme, Anifilm traditionally prepares its extensive programme Animo for children and families. The festival also carries on with its popular midnight screenings which are definitely not intended for children. The Liberec Square and other festival venues will host our programme Taking Stock recapitulating last year’s season. With the help of juror Mariam Kandelaki, our section Eastern Promises will introduce promising Georgian animation. Our programme also includes digitally restored classics. Our section Classics Rebooted will screen Hungarian film Heroic Times, winner of the Cristal for the Best Feature at the 1985 Annecy Film Festival, and two Czech gems by Jiří Barta – The Vanished World of Gloves and The Pied Piper. BlockThat’s What She Said from the members of the Animation Festival Network will introduce films made by filmmakers identifying themselves as women as these festivals put great emphasis on the role of women in the animation industry. A special screening will present Oscar-Nominated Short Films.
